Engagement is the single best predictor of both algorithmic reach and brand-deal pricing. These calculators turn your raw numbers — likes, comments, followers — into the rates, ratios, and benchmarks everyone in the industry actually uses.
Engagement is any deliberate interaction a viewer has with your content: likes, comments, shares, saves, and sometimes video completions. Different platforms weight these actions differently — TikTok values completion rate; Instagram prioritizes saves and shares; YouTube watches total watch time above all else.
An engagement rate puts interactions in context. An account with 1,000 followers and 100 likes per post has a 10% engagement rate — extraordinary for any platform. An account with 1,000,000 followers and the same 100 likes has 0.01% — algorithmically invisible.
The standard formula divides total engagement by follower count, but some analysts prefer dividing by reach (impressions) for a truer measure of content performance regardless of audience size. Both are valid; we support both.
